FW: POWERJOG treadmill problem

Importance: High

Your enquiry:- The machine +led indicator increases speed on its own will ,quite rapidly, making it unuseable, i have changed the data cable, checked the motor for sparking in the dark (brushes), checked all visible connectors,When jogging you can see the speed + jogger flashing on to increase the speed , it then gets to a fairly high pace & then achieves flat out speed in no time. While i know the machine is quite aged if possible i would like it repaired, of course i do not know if the spares or pc boards are still available for this machine.

In addition to what you have already checked, It could be that you have a sticking membrane keypad (check to see if the indicated speed also increases on the display), an erratic speed sensor (clean it out) or the motor controller could be breaking down (extreme but possible). I’d recommend a diagnosis visit as this will at least ensure the machine is thoroughly diagnosed before you make any decisions. For info parts are still available but they are becoming rare and there’s no sale or return option on self diagnosed spares.

Please let me know how you wish to proceed. If you wish to book yourself in for a visit, we have an online booking form or you can reply to this email with your full address and I will make the arrangements for you! We are currently working on a 7-10 day lead time to arrange a visit.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello I am having the same sort of problem with my powerjog treadmill when I switch it on it automatically runs at full speed. I changed the console without any luck so thinking it's the speed sensor?
Where about is the speed sensor located on the powerjog?
Thank you
Mark

Hi and thanks for your question. The speed sensor is located at the rear end of the motor inside a plastic shroud. It's an optical device so you'll be able to give it a good blow out especially on the sensors lens without the need to remove the entire assembly. Hope this helps. The Treadmill Engineer.

My powerjog j100 treadmill has coloured lines appearing on console and treadmill not switching on just making a loud sound

Hi
It sounds like a connection problem with the wires to or from the console. Also check the connections that go into the lower circuit board (by the motor). These are subject to dirt and vibration due to their proximity to the motor and belts. The Treadmill Engineer

Hi I have a problem with my powerjog gx100 the tread does not run the speed flashes on screen then after a few seconds says taco on the distance I have blown the taco with aerosol air still no different disconnected all wiring and re installed any ideas?? Thank you in advance

Thanks for your question. If the running belt is not turning then you will not get a speed signal hence the error message "taco". This could indicate a motor or controller problem. If the running belt is turning on its own and you get the "taco" message then either the speed sensor requires further cleaning or it is faulty. Hope this helps.

Hi there. I have the same issue with the power jog g100. I press start and then +, the belt runs fine but then taco comes up in the distance window. If I run it slowly, it will go for about 45seconds before taco appears. If I run it faster taco appears in about 10 seconds. You mentioned cleaning the speed sensor, where is it situated and if it's faulty can you supply a new one. Regards conor

Hi - the speed sensor is mounted at the rear of the drive motor under a plastic protective cap. Use a vacuum or air blast to clean it thoroughly. If it does not work after that I can supply a new one - send me an email to justask@northwick.eu and I will get you a quote.

Hi again. That seems to have sorted the taco issue. Thank you very much for your advice. I've saved your email for future parts for my antique treadmill. Thanks again. Conor

Hello. My powerjog machine doesn't run,the belt is not turning and it says taco on console. Any advice would be great. Oh I hit the motor with a hammer couple times and it started working!

Hi - thanks for yoru question. It sounds like the motor is faulty. It should run ok and without the aid of a hammer! I recommend you get it checked out by a motor rewind specialist and that you double check all the wiring connections. The motor is located next to the running belt and so it may be covered in dust and dirt and so a thorough vacuum out of the motor and surrounding area may help. The taco can be accessed by removing a small plastic cover and this too can get full of dust which prevents proper operation. Hope this helps!

Hello. My power jog belt is not running. It turns on and makes the charge sound as normal. However the other day it started to turn and speed went up and down with control panel, but when the stop button was pressed it slowed right down but didn't stop completely. Is it a relay sticking?

The Treadmill Engineer said...

Hi - thanks for your question. It certainly sounds like a circuit board problem but I can't tell you whcih component it is likely to be. I recommend you vacuum out the machine thoroughly and check the connections to the circuit boards before you start replacing/repairing the electronics.

Hi how to reset the lubrication notification on j series

The Treadmill Engineer said...

Try This:-
Powerjog Treadmill Reset Sequence (reset counters for lube/service indicator)

Switch on the Powerjog and reset lubrication. Under the TFT Console screen are 4 button function keys, you will need to locate the 2 centre buttons and press the left before the right and hold down for about 10 seconds This will take you into the back system of your console. The display will change to an information screen. Press Next to display “Machine Totals” page at the bottom of which is an option labelled Lubrication. Select this option and on the next screen display select Reset. The time since lubrication will change from Yellow to Red and you confirm the reset. Now Press Exit until you return to the start screen. This has now reset the lubrication

Hi,
I would be grateful if you could let me know whether I could buy from you the main board control of the powerjog treadmill G100 to replace the current one that has broken down.
Many thanks,

This is an obsolete machine but there are some spares still available on eBay and here https://www.gymparts.co.uk/searchresults?terms=powerjog#

Power jog turns on everything lights up but when you press start it lights up but goes straight to the red light on the stop so won't run .

The Treadmill Engineer said...

Most likely to be the DC motor or motor controller. Check the fuses on the controller circuit board too.

Hi. We are a fire station with little budget and our treadmill has broken. It’s a power jog j100/200 of jx100/200 it turns on and the displays works fine. The speed increases but there is no drive going to the belt. Also clicks and comes up with a fault. Any help will be appreciated. I believe this machine is nearly 20 years old and was donated over 10 years ago. Many thanks Red Watch
